Only 28 consider the desirable and realistic

More presidential approach, more the world of work hopes to break with the economic and social situation. It is one of the main lessons of the second quarterly wave of the Observatory of the actors in the work undertaken by Ipsos in partnership with the Institute Manpower for LCI and "Les echos". Published in a month in the first round, this survey reveals a significant increase of expectations of "social and economic reforms major": 4 points in three months in employees, 56, 5 points among business leaders, to 63. In the two populations, those who are waiting for reforms without breaking are now very minority. They are only 27 of employees ( 3 points) and 19 of business leaders ( 3 points). Long associated with Nicolas Sarkozy, who had been a political marker, the term "break" introduces no bias in the results, ensures Pierre Giacometti, Director of Ipsos, because it would be today "undercover".

Do not threaten the competitiveness

This stronger requirement that occurs on the pretenders to the Elysee translated a concern about the turn taken by the campaign, a dissatisfaction with the responses advocated by the candidates Still, is it that it does not reflect a decrease in morale of employees and employers, on the contrary. When asked about their State of mind for their work, the first say more motivated and more satisfied that three months ago, while feelings of stress and concern are receding. On the patterns, they are more optimistic than in December, for the health of their company, the evolution of their sector of activity and employment opportunities. One notable point: they are more than 35, compared to 41 in the first wave, to determine possible an increase in wages. It is, no doubt, a message of realism to the candidates, invited them to do not threaten the competitiveness of enterprises by reckless promises. One of the surprises of this survey is the rejection reasoned for the promise of rapid increase in the minimum wage to 1,500 euros gross monthly, made by the Socialist Ségolène Royal (which has, then, considered it the duration of the quinquennium). The proposal is considered "desirable, but not realistic" by more than one worker in two (54). Only 28 consider the "desirable and realistic." Business leaders are just less likely to support it (all the same 20).

Application of morality

Generally, each and others seem to aspire to more pragmatic and less than dogmatism. Less than half (48) employees want and deem realistic contract remove new hires. A view rejected by 54 of the leaders of society. Jean-Pierre Jouyet, Chief of the General Inspectorate of finances, invited by the Manpower Institute to comment on the results of the survey as co-author of a recent book on the State of the country ("Do not bury the France!", ditions Robert Laffont), "The French see well the parameters that influence the economic efficiency", they are both "between what is realistic and what is not" (). In fact, the proposals which the French perceive sense rather than ideological support, subject to a broad consent: the freedom to work the Sunday (63 of the employees, 72 of leaders), suppression of rights to unemployment after refusal of offers of employment (60 of the employees, 74 of leaders), packaging of public aid to companies (61 of the employees and leaders). The appeal to realism double of a claim of morality of economic policy.
